Participation in the program DelcamArtCAMPro-in cooperation with the Polytechnic University project
For the past few years the company Delcam has been cooperating with the department of computer modeling from the Polytechnic University of Odessa. Together they have been offering students and teachers access to the latest technologies in the field of design and three-dimensional modeling. These technologies are ones that have been developed by employees of Delcam.
Our school has a partnership with the Polytechnic University of Odessa. Our IT teacher has received training from this university in the program ArtCam (for 3-D modeling).
Licensed programs were installed in our computer classrooms. After studying the program, students from the 10-th form do creative projects. They can then be brought to life on drinking glasses using engraving machines at the department of computer modeling during summer internships at the university.
On April 8, 2014, the students of our school, Anastasia Uzhakova and Iliev Stanislav, jointly with the IT teacher E.V. Kuvshinova, participated in Delcam company’s award ceremony of the 12-th annual contest on three-dimensional modeling.
The project, which involved creating a three-dimensional school emblem of Garmoniya using ArtCam, received the third-place prize among 30 participating schools from Ukraine and Russia.
The ceremony took place at the stately residence of the Ambassador of the UK in Kiev.
Among the honorable guests, there was the company director, Hugh Humphries; the regional director of Delcam, Chris Edwards; the assistant of the Minister of Education of Ukraine; and some regional project coordinators.
During informal conversation with the Ambassador of the UK, he mentioned our students’ high level of English ability.
